Major Juan Montalbano has deployed to Korea for three weeks in support of Exercise Key Resolve. Around 17,000 U.S. troops and more than 300,000 ROK military personnel will participate in the exercises. According to US Forces Korea, Key Resolve highlights the longstanding partnership and friendship between the two nations and their combined commitment to the defense of the ROK and regional stability. Juan returns his civilian job at Farrell & Associates on March 24.

Tom Farrell was recertified for a five-year period as a Board-Certified Family Law Specialist. In 2002, Tom became the first – and to date the only lawyer – in Hawaii to meet the demanding requirements of the National Board of Trial Advocacy, accredited by the American Bar Association. Tom’s certification will continue through 2022.
Farrell & Associates organized a Family Court Orientation
Farrell & Associates organized a Family Court Orientation for Military Legal Services Officers. This half-day event brought together NLSO-Hawaii, Coast Guard Legal Assistance, 8th TSC Legal Services Office, and Legal Assistance Office MCB-Hawaii at the Family Court in Kapolei. In addition to presentations from the Senior Family Court Judge and court staff, Tom Farrell spoke on Divorce in Hawaii, and provided participants with Chapter 13, “Divorce and the Military,” from the Hawaii Divorce Manual.

The panel was sponsored by the Family Law Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association.
